There is a story behind the name Giri Ganga which goes something like this; Long ago a sage toppled his gangaajal pot on the banks of the river and hence the name Giri Ganga is used. This river is located in a tiny village called Khara Pathar, which is located near Shimla in Himachal Pradesh. The river is covered by deodar and apple orchard forests. The campsite is located on the banks of this river, so there is no shortage of fresh water.

How to reach Giri Ganga Riverside:

It is located at about 77 kilometers from Shimla. So, you can hire a private taxi from Shimla and reach the location, or you could travel in a government bus. It takes twice the amount of time to travel by the bus.
