4.     KASAULI

Kasauli is a small, beautiful hill station of Himachal Pradesh located at a distance of 77 kms from Shimla situated at a height of 1927mt., from sea level. 5.     NAINITAL

According to Hindu mythology, Nainital Lake was created by three sages namely Atri, Pulastya and Pulaha. Legend tells that these sages were thirsty and finding water in Nainital, as they were unable to find out water, so they dug a large hole at the location of the present day lake and filled it with water of Manasarovar in Tibet. Hindus believe that the Naini Lake is one of the 51 Shakti Pithas where Sati’s eyes (Nain) fell while her dead body is being carried by Lord Shiva Naini Lake is placed at the heart of the hill station. It is a eye-shaped lake attracts thousands of tourists round the year. You can hire a boat to enjoy the surrounding beauty of the lake. The northern side of the lake is known as Mallital, while the southern side is known as Tallital. There have a Bridge over the lake which connects the two banks of the lake.

Naini Devi Temple is placed by the north bank of Nainital Lake. This temple is dedicated to Mata Naina Debi represented by two eyes. You will found some more temples like goddess Kali and Lord Ganesha around the Naina Devi Temple. It is believed that the time of Mahatandab of lord Shiva, the eyes (Naina) of the Goddess Sati are assumed to have fallen here. There are also so many places to visit in nainital.

Kufri is a small hill station in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh state in India. 10.MANDI

Mandi district (earlier known as Mandavya Nagar) is one of the central districts of Himachal Pradesh  state in northern India. Mandi town is the headquarters of Mandi district. 12.DHARAMSHALA

Dharamshala is a popular hill town  located in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated in the upper reaches of the Kangra Valley at an elevation of 1,457 meters above sea level. Since ancient times the region surrounding Dharamshala has been ruled by the Katoch Dynasty of Kangra, which is also the oldest surviving royal dynasty in the world. Following several wars and battles, the region came under the control of the British in 1848. Following the British annexation, the region was developed into a cantonment town for the Gurkha Light Infantry known as the Gurkha Rifles in 1860.The town is divided into 2 areas, each separated by a short distance of 10 kilometers. The upper Dharamshala is known more commonly as McLeod Ganj and is the home of the Tibetan community in exile. It is the center of all the tourist activities and most information related to Dharamshala mostly refers to McLeod Ganj. The lower Dharamshala contains all the commercial centers, educational institutions and hospitals. One can also find a few tea gardens and the bus station in lower Dharamshala.

13.AULI

Auli is considered among the best skiing destinations of India. 14.CHAMBA

The hill town of Chamba is situated on the banks of Ravi river right at the point of its confluence with the Sal River. Sitting atop an elevation of 996 meters above sea level, Chamba is one of the important tourist towns of Himachal Pradesh. The history of the place can be traced back to the 2nd century BC when it was ruled by the Kolian Tribes.

The town (which is also a popular hill station in Himachal Pradesh) was later developed by the Kings of, the Gupta Empire, the Pratihara or the Rajput Dynasty and finally the British. The name Chamba was kept after the daughter of the Maru king, Raja Sahil Varman who shifted the capital of his kingdom from the adjoining town of Bharmour during the 10th century AD. The terrain surrounding Chamba primarily consists of hills, valleys, rivers and is a popular tourist resort away from the usual hustle and bustle of the cities.

15. MOUNT ABU
